4 swimmers (Richard Symons, Bob Bolton, John Anderson and Laura Bowden) made the trip. It would have been 5 but Alec had a date with the AA. They returned with 24 medals between them!

Alec was our sole representative and returned with 2 British Records

British Masters Long Course Championships, Sheffield
12 swimmers made the trip across the Pennines. They brought back 36 medals (19 gold, 13 silver and 4 bronze).
We broke 2 world records:
160+ Mixed 4 x 100 Free – 4:03.70 – British, European and World Record
Alec Johnson (a BR on the lead off leg), Helen Sadler, Lucy Lloyd Roach and Steve Harding
100+ Womens 4 x 200 Free 9:23.95 – British, European and World Record by 15.18 secs ! The team were Emma Ross, Becky Lennon, Laura Bowden and Lucy Lloyd Roach
We also had a British Record in the 160 + Mixed 4 x 100 Medley – 4:35.43 British Record by 27.69 secs! The team were Helen Sadler, Steve Harding, Lucy Lloyd Roach, Alec Johnson
North West Region Masters Sprint Meet, Blackpool
14 swimmers went and they returned with 34 golds and 19 medals in a mix of silver and bronze. Helen Sadler was awarded Top Female with 5 golds and Richard Symons was awarded Top Male also with 5 golds.
Cheshire Sprints, Macclesfield.
24 swimmers competed and we had a few swimmers competing in their first Masters’ gala: Vanessa, Michael Boyle and Ian Griffiths
The club returned with 70 medals and won the top club trophy by over 200 points!
ASA National Championships, Sheffield
The largest ever team from Trafford of 32 swimmers attended and we achieved:

100+ women’s 400 free Lucy, Laura Bowden, Emma Ross, and Sarah Healey
100+ mixed 800 free Paul Barnard, Lucy, Laura, and Ben Silver
100+ women’s 800 free Becky Lennon, Emma Ross, Laura and Lucy
3 European records in Relays.
200+ mixed 200 medley of Helen Sadler, Nev Barton, Sarah Healey and Neil Mackinnon
200+ mixed 400 medley Helen, Steve Metcalfe, Alec, Rachel
160+ mixed 400 free Steve M, Steve Harding, Helen and Sarah
We also got had an individual British Record broken by Sarah Healey in 100 fly.
We were undoubtedly the best team at the meet and finished with 73 medals.
