Trafford Metropolitan Borough Swimming Club was formed in 1913. It has evolved since then to be one of the leading Development Swimming Clubs in the Northwest and one of the largest and most successful Masters Clubs in the Country!
We are a competitive swimming club that accepts swimmers of all ages from 7 years and above.
We run a Mini Mets Academy that prepares young swimmers for entry into our competitive Junior Squads.
Our long-term athlete development programme takes our junior swimmers, up to the age of 18, from relative novice to competitive level with many competing at Local, County, Regional and National Level.
At the age of 18 swimmers are eligible to swim in our Masters Section, which in 2022 won the Otter Trophy for Top Club in the Country and in 2023 the Cupar Trophy for Top Club at the British Masters Championships. We have a number of National Champions, British, European and World Record Holders in our Masters Section.
Our coaching team is Swim England qualified and very experienced working with both young and mature athletes.
We mainly train at Sale Leisure Centre in both the main and club pools, but swimmers from our Mini Mets Academy and National Squads also train at St Ambrose Pool in Hale.
