For Pool Training
Apart from the obvious a good fitting pair of googles and an appropriate swimming costume, squad members should have:
- TMBSC Swimming Cap – All swimmers are required to wear these. They can be purchased from the club office on Sundays 3.45-5.45 pm or via your coach.
- A suitable sports bag for towel, costume etc. This should be big enough for storing their clothes in when attending Galas (both internal and external) as space in changing rooms is limited and lockers are in short supply.
- A good sized sports drink bottle – this is needed both at land training and swim sessions. It is important to keep fluid levels topped up. Water is all that is needed in it.
-
Swimmers need to come to each pool training session with the following training aids:
- Pull Buoy
- Kickboard
- Fins
- Centre Snorkel
- A net bag is useful for keeping the training kit together not just to and from poolside but also at home.
These items can be purchased from our Team Wear provider Cooper Sports (details below), online or at sports retailers such as Decathlon.
As the swimmer progresses thorough the squads additional training equipment will be required i.e. drag shorts, finger paddles and centre snorkel. However the squad coach will inform you when these items are required and also give advice as to the most suitable types to buy.
For Land Training
Land training is as it suggests non water based fitness and stretching. It can be based on poolside before or after a swim session, in the gym or outside.
For poolside training a t-shirt and shorts should be worn over the swimming costume.
For gym and outside training TMBSC shirts are required, as well as shorts and trainers. Black leggings or tracksuit bottoms may also be worn.
Team Wear
TMBSC have introduced a new junior club kit which is red and black – polo shirt, shorts and hoody - and is supplied by Cooper Sports, 1 st Floor EMPORIUM, Sale, M33 7EB. Telephone No.07838 853054. Samples of the kit are available at Cooper Sports to try on for sizing. See document below.
All Team Wear kit can be personalised by Cooper Sports with the swimmer’s initials and the club badge.
The club asks that swimmers attend all training sessions in the clubs Red and Black Shirts/Hoodies. This enables the coaches and leisure centre staff to easily identify club members and allows quicker access to the centre. The club also requires swimmers attending galas and events to wear the club kit.
Please remember to write the swimmers name on all clothing and equipment (not just their initial). With 30+ kick boards and pull buoys at each session items easily get mixed up
