A small but elite team of masters crept over the Cheshire boundary on a raiding mission into Lancashire at their county masters meet at Blackpool's Palatine pool. The result was 15 Gold medals, 11 silvers and 8 bronze medals.
Alec Johnson won all 4 of his events and evergreen John Anderson produced incredible stamina for a 77 year old in bagging 3 gold and 3 silver medals from 6 events. Richard Symons tested the water in the run in to the world championships with 3 gold and 2 silver. Rachael Gorman gave herself an endurance test entering 7 events that returned 2 gold, 3 silver and a bronze. The youngest performer on the day was Louisa Zolkiewski who collected 2 gold a silver and a bronze. In a rare soiree into the competition pool Emma Bisset showed her class in winning a brace of bronze medals. Michael Boyle crammed in 5 events en route to a gold and 3 bronze. It was great to see Martin Kemp and 'Tiq Rehman flying the flag for Trafford and Tiq celebrated with 2 silver and and a bronze.
Once again Trafford Metro Masters proved that when they go 'on the road' they usually come home with the 'goodies' and this was no exception. Next stop Yorkshire!
