Trafford Metro were seen making some big waves up at Bolton at the weekend, with the like of Jack O’brien and Anna Livermore taking a massive 11 medals out of the 20 medals that were collected by Trafford. Jack most certainly climbed the stalk taking 2 Golds & 4 Silvers away from the big pool up at Bolton. His Big Triumphs came in the Breastroke on both sprint events of the 50 & 100m’s with his 50m being his best performance beating his next competitor by over a second and getting a new personal best. Bringing home an abundance of Medals was Anna Livermore collecting 5 Silvers just coming short of the beloved Gold each time, but either way they were great performances with personal bests in the 200IM & 100Fly. The Girls at Bolton had great performances with Gold being rewarded in the 100m Breastroke in a time of 1.33.52 to Lauren Banner in the 11 years age group showing great form she was able to do the full set with a Bronze in the 100 Freestyle and Silver in the 50m Breastroke. Helping in the medals for the girls Eve Salsbury(13) bronze in the 50breastroke and Olivia Mcaninly(15+) took two Bronze medals in the 100Breastroke and 100Frreestyle. Also the boys weren’t just held in the medals by Jack but also Keaton Partington in the 14years age group collected 1 Silver & 2 Bronzes with his best medal coming in the splash & dash event of the 50m Freestyle clocking a time of 27.69s.
It’s got be said there were great performances all day with numerous PB’s and one that stood out from the rest was Daniel Boyle who ripped out the 1st heat and stormed it like he was on a mission to take 11seconds off his entry time in the 50m Freestyle with a time of 36.73. Well done to all who took part and many thanks to Jo for prepping and de-briefing the swimmers as well as Kieran and Julie for helping out on poolside gearing all the swimmers for their races.
