The standard of competiton at the 3 weekends of the Regionals was as exceptional as ever this year and our Swim Trafford squad swimmers excelled with medals galore.
Connor Bennett bagged a bronze in the 17 years 400IM. In the 16 years Soloman Mhar collected bronze medals for the 100 and 200 Backstroke adding silver to his tally in the1500 Freestyle and 400 IM. Jack O'Brien emulated Sol's IM silver medal in the 400 15 years age group then added another silver for the 200 IM before making a clean sweep in the 50 100 and 200 Breastroke events taking 3 gold medals.
Our girls were not to be left out as Anna Livermore helped herself to a bronze medal in the 15 years 800 m Freestyle. In the 14 years Holly Rowlinson won bronze for her 400IM swim and silver medals for the 50 100 and 200 metre breastroke events. Olivia Dykes also won a bronze for her performance in teh 200 backstroke
Brilliant performances from all our swimmers including those that didn't medal with some great team spirit on the poolside. Special thanks to James Stannard for the great work he does with our elite swimmers and also to head coach Craig Ward and the coaching team at Trafford Metro.
Next stop the Nationals and for Tiago Lawrie the Scottish National Championships. Good luck to all our swimmers and also to the squad swimmers from the other borough clubs.
