Former Trafford Metro swimmer James Guy struck gold with the GB 4x200 freestyle relay team on Tuesday night. Not only that, he managed to swim two of his best times EVER.
In the heats he split a 1:45.04, his first 200 free PB in nine years! In the final he was just as consistent, leading off in a 1:45.09 in the final to hold off the newly-minted NCAA champion and record holder Luke Hobson from the USA.
All swimmers in the GB team split low 1:45s with Stirling’s Duncan Scott anchoring in a blistering 1:43.95 to clinch the gold for GB.
It just shows that PBs can come no matter your age!
Congratulations to James and the rest of the team - and best of luck for the relays!
